Tasmania contains some of the world's most precious and pristine wilderness.  World Heritage listed areas, National Parks, roaring rivers, white sandy beaches and rugged mountain peaks are all found here.  Wilderness camping and adventure opportunities abound, but there are also plenty of rural bed and breakfasts, historic houses and self catering accommodation from which to explore the remote parts of the island, making self drive an excellent option.  The climate is distinctly cooler than mainland Australia with average temperatures of:
