Day 1
Collect your rental vehicle in Launceston and spend the rest of the day at
leisure in the area. Stay overnight in the beautifully restored
City Park Grand Hotel (previously the Prince Albert Inn), which offers the style and grace of the 1850s with
all the facilities the modern traveller has come to expect.
Overnight:
City Park Grand Hotel, Launceston

|
Day 2
Today leave Launceston and drive east to St Helens via Scottsdale.
From the sand dunes of St Helens Point, drive south through
the Chain of Lagoons to Bicheno and Freycinet National Park.
The east coast is a ribbon of beaches, granite outcrops and deserted
coves.
Overnight:
Diamond Island Resort - includes continental breakfast provisions and
guided evening penguin tour
Diamond Island Resort is near the east coast fishing village of
Bicheno and overlooks the island for which it is named.
Accommodation at Diamond Island is both contemporary and
comfortable. The refurbished, self-contained apartments feature
fully equipped kitchens (including bread makers), and modern
furnishings. Luxurious linen and eco-friendly toiletries are
examples of the attention to detail which sets Diamond Island apart.
Floor to ceiling glass doors capture sun and fabulous views of the
coast which stretches north as far as the eye can see.
|
|
Day 3
Leave Swansea and drive to Hobart, perhaps with a detour to the Tasman
Peninsula and Port Arthur.
Overnight:
Lenna of Hobart
