Getting to Wilson Island ...
Wilson Island is accessed via Heron Island.  The remote coral cay is located 15 kilometres from Heron Island (approximately 45 minutes by boat).
Launch transfers operate daily (with the exception of Christmas day) between Heron and Wilson Islands. The transfer connects with arrivals and departures onto Heron Island.
Please note daily boat departure times from Heron Island are 10:00 and 15:00 only.
To assist in maintaining the pristine environment of the Cay there are no jetty facilities, with transfers ashore undertaken by way of a small tender vessel. Transfer times are subject to tide and weather conditions, and may vary accordingly.
In instances of extreme weather conditions, access to Wilson Island may be restricted and as a result of this the launch to Wilson Island may be postponed or suspended due to safety considerations. In these circumstances, alternate accommodation, activities and dining options will be arranged on Heron Island.
Heron Island is accessed from Gladstone by means of launch or helicopter transfer.  A 15 kg luggage restriction applies and excess baggage can be stored free of charge at Gladstone airport.
