Girl sitting by pool at Hamilton IslandHamilton Island, in the beautiful Whitsundays, is one of the most accessible Queensland islands with frequent direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns.  The resort offers a large choice of accommodation including hotel rooms, apartments and bungalows and has a host of water sports and entertainments, plus a wide range of restaurants and shops. Situated in the Coral Sea between the Queensland coast and the Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton is halfway between Mackay and Townsville and is the largest inhabited Whitsunday island. 
  
Getting to Hamilton Island ...
There are direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns, or you can take a launch from Shute Harbour.
Check in time at the Resort on Hamilton Island is 2.00pm and if you are arriving before 2.00pm, you might want to carry a day bag with your swimming things etc so that you can begin to enjoy the island immediately.  You'll find lockers, changing rooms and shower facilities in the Hospitality Lounge in the lobby of the Reef View Hotel.

Hamilton Island has a tropical climate with an average temperature of 27.4C.  The summer maximum is about 30C and in winter the maximum is around 23C.

Recently opened, the hotel caters for couples only, with a king size bed in each room.  All 55 rooms have uninterrupted views of the Coral Sea.  There is a private swimming pool, tropical pool bar and club lounge.  Children under 18 are not catered for at this hotel.
