Night falls over Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge © Scott Ross
Sydney is one of the world's great cities.  Set around a beautiful natural harbour where the giant Harbour Bridge and the stunning Opera House are key showpieces, Sydney has a lively, cosmopolitan ambience.  Local ferries provide a cheap way to see more of the city and its spectacular urban surf beaches.  Nearby sightseeing opportunities abound including the Blue Mountains, the Hunter Valley wine region, and Canberra, the national capital.  Within the city, the spectacular Bridge Climb is recommended for the fit and active.
